Recreational Pilot License

  • Be at least 17 years old.
  • Hold at least a third-class medical certificate.
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 30 hours of flight time, including:
    • 15 hours of flight training

  • Pass a practical test (checkride) with an FAA-designated pilot examiner.

Private Pilot License

  • Complete a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, including:
    • 20 hours of flight training
